Dollar Per Child Campaign The HSAH goal is to raise $1 for every child enrolled in Head Start. The Dollar per Child campaign specifically supports advocacy activities in conjunction with NHSA. Funds help maintain high media visibility about Head Start issues, hold trainings on current Head Start legal issues, and impact public policy and legislation.

NHSA offers the Voter Participation and Lobbying Laws for Head Start is a 28-page guide designed to help the Head Start community with political involvement. The guide illustrates do’s and don’ts for Head Start communities actively involved in the political process. It references the Hatch Act, which is legislation that determines the level of political activities allowable by law.
Follow Head Start’s Reauthorization On December 12, 2007, President Bush signed Public Law 110-134 "Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007" reauthorizing the Head Start program. This law contains significant revisions to the previous Head Start Act and authorizes Head Start through September 30, 2012.
